Miss Black
North Carolina 2008, Captures 3rd Runner-Up in The National Miss
Black USA Pageant
Audrey Cox, the current Miss Black North Carolina USA 2008, captured
3rd Runner-Up in the National Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant
held in Las Vegas, NV June 17 - 24, 2008. Miss Cox competed
against 37 lovely, intelligent and talented young ladies from
across the United States. The tension
rose in the auditorium on the evening of Finals, as the top 15 were
called. The top 15 were called in no random order. 14
young ladies had been called and then the announcer said, and
rounding out our top 15 is "Miss Black North Carolina USA",
Audrey Cox....cheers filled the auditorium. Miss Cox then
gave an outstanding showing in the Fitness competition. Mary
Wilson, of the Supremes, personally gave her a nod of approval
after her rendition of "Get Here" by Oletta Adams. She was
stunning in her Evening-wear from Bow-Ties Ribbons &
Lace in Dunn, NC. Miss Cox would
personally like to thank all of you who supported her through
donations, prayers, and kind words during her vow for the title of
Miss Black USA 2008. Special thanks to Mrs. Rhonda Whaley of
Bowties Ribbons & Lace of Dunn, NC for all of your hard work and
efforts to get her prepared. "North Carolina....you
were truly wonderful, I felt like a winner even before stepping on
the Miss Black USA stage. I was truly proud to represent such
a wonderful group of people."
