Mrs. Black North Carolina "Sandra
Fisher"
Sandra Fisher, Mrs. Black North Carolina 2009,
resides in Kinston, North
Carolina with her husband, Sam. They
have five children, Sam, Jr., Dana, Cheretta, Shay & Steven; and
one granddaughter, Emma. She received her Property &
Casualty Certification from Lenoir Community
College & the NC Department of Insurance; and is
currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business
Administration from Mount Olive College.
She has served in the legal community for 22 years
as a Litigation Paralegal and is the Operations Analyst for
Community Intervention Center, Inc., of Greenville, NC. Volunteering and
community service are high on her list of priorities with service to
the Aglow International, NC United Methodist Church, Lenoir County
Education Foundation, Lenoir County Red Cross, Relay for Life,
Kinston Community Council for the Arts; Past Chairman-Lenoir
Community College Office Systems Technology Advisory
Committee.
An accomplished vocalist, she has performed
throughout the south and is featured on the farewell CD “Take Me
Home” - performed by national recording artist, “Weekend
Excursion”. In 1992, she had the distinct honor of performing
at the retirement celebration of one of the famed Original Tuskegee
Airmen, Spann
Watson.
As a pageant judge, coordinator, emcee and
contestant, her pageant history, which spans more than 25 years
includes participation, awards and titles earned in various local,
state and national pageants. She is a Miss North Carolina
& Miss America Certified Judge. She currently serves as
contestant coordinator the Miss Eastern Carolina Scholarship
Pageant. Her previous titles include Mrs. North Carolina
Sophisticate, Mrs. North Carolina Pickle Princess, Mrs. North
Carolina Universal Woman, and Mrs. Wayne
County.

Mr. Black North Carolina "Bernard
Leak"
Bernard D. Leak is the current Mr.
Black North Carolina 2009. Bernard will be graduating with a
Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies with a concentration in News and
Documentary from UNC Greensboro this May. Post matriculation,
Bernard is looking to have a position in network news as a field
reporter. As Mr. Black North Carolina, Bernard’s platform is: the
advancement of music in schools. Mr. Leak is the current News
Director for Spartan Television, and an active brother in Phi Mu
Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America. In his spare time, Bernard
mentors for Wise Guys and tutors for Mastermind prep. Mr. Leak is
available for speaking engagements, pageant coordinating and
judging.
